3PL (fulfillment center) is a term generally used to describe the entity that is responsible for overseeing the journey of warehousing, packaging, labeling, shipping and tracking functions of an infomercial product. 3PL stands for Third Party Logistics.
These responsibilities are typically subcontracted to a third-party company that specializes in processing Direct-to-Consumer sales. In today’s marketplace, a 3PL that has the ability to process multiple monthly payments is essential when the product offer cost to the consumer is a considered purchase. Most fulfillment facilities also offer inbound telephone customer service, save the sale agents, and even deposit mailed-in checks for orders. Choosing the right 3PL can be the difference between success and failure for a modern business.
